About The Morning Pour
The Morning Pour is an independent home-coffee publication. It is written by one person — Chris Y. — from a kitchen with 23 inches of usable counter and 15.5 inches of clearance under the upper cabinet. That constraint is why this site exists. Coffee gear is reviewed everywhere by people who taste; almost nobody tells you whether the machine physically fits, how tall it is with the reservoir lid open, or what the brand actually publishes about brew temperature.
How a guide here is built
Every number in a spec block comes from the manufacturer's own published specification page, and every one of those pages is linked in the Sources section at the bottom of the guide. Where a brand does not publish a number — heat-up time and brew temperature are the two most commonly withheld — the guide says "not published" instead of inventing a figure. We do not run a lab, and we never say otherwise. What we do is read the manufacturer documentation that buyers skip, convert it into the measurements that decide whether a machine works in a real kitchen, and rank against those.
What we will not do
We do not print prices, because retailers change them hourly and a stale number is worse than no number; each guide uses a price band and sends you to the retailer for the real figure. We do not quote star scores or review counts. We do not accept payment for placement, brands do not see a guide before it publishes, and no brand has ever been given the ability to change a ranking. We name the products we rejected, and why, in every guide.
Photography
Product images on this site come from the manufacturer's own product pages or press materials and are credited to the brand in the caption. Scene photography is licensed stock, credited to the photographer. Every source is recorded. As Chris buys the machines outright, those images are replaced with our own photographs of the machine on a real counter.
Corrections, spec disputes, and "does it fit under my cabinet" questions all go to the same place: stackpicksmedia@gmail.com. If a number on this site is wrong, we would rather hear it from you than leave it up.
