Buy the Feandrea HAINS enclosure. It is the only cabinet here that publishes both of its interior configurations — 19.8 x 19.8 x 18.3 inches with the divider in, 29.7 x 19.8 x 18.3 inches with it out — and the only one that admits the divider is structural, because the rated top load falls from 132 lb to 22 lb the moment you take it out.
Brands publish the exterior because it photographs well, and the exterior is the number that does not matter. The interior has to swallow a pan, a cat, and eight inches of headroom. Every figure below is quoted from a manufacturer's own page. If your cat is a Maine Coon, skip to the double-door HAINS; if your free spot is under two feet wide, skip to the Yaheetech side table.
How to shop for hidden litter box furniture
Interior width, not exterior width
A 31.5-inch cabinet can have a 19.8-inch compartment once you account for panel thickness and a divider. Measure your pan, add two inches a side, and compare against the interior figure only.
Entry opening in inches
The spec brands hide. Yaheetech publishes 6.5 x 8 inches on one model and a 10.6-inch cat hole on another, and that difference decides whether a 14 lb cat folds through or stops using the box.
Rated load on top
If the cabinet is going to be a side table, the number has to cover a lamp, a plant and a cat landing on it. Published ratings in this set run from 22 lb to 176 lb, and one of them changes depending on whether the divider is installed.

A straight-through entry is a dog door as much as a cat door; a turn in the path is what stops a determined terrier, and with the latch it is the reason I would take this over a plain cabinet in a two-species household. What nobody can tell you is what fits inside, because Hzuaneri publishes no interior measurement anywhere on its own site — buy it for the corridor, measure it the day it arrives, and keep the carton until your pan is in it.

A dash in the comparison table means the manufacturer publishes no figure for that row. No gap is filled from a marketplace description, and every pick with a gap names it in its reasons to avoid.
The verdict
Best overall — the Feandrea HAINS enclosure, because it publishes both interior configurations and tells you what taking the divider out costs you. Best for a large cat — the double-door HAINS, with a 23-inch interior that clears a jumbo pan. Best for a hallway — the Yaheetech side table at 19 inches wide, with the only published entry opening in the guide, provided your cat is not big.
The category's real problem is not quality, it is disclosure: three of the products recommended most often elsewhere have no living manufacturer website. If you buy nothing from this page, take the measuring habit — pan footprint plus two inches a side, pan height plus eight inches, entry opening wide enough for the cat you actually have.
How much bigger than the litter box does an enclosure need to be?
Add two inches to each side of your pan's footprint and eight inches above its rim. A 17.5 x 20-inch pan wants an interior of roughly 20 x 23 inches, which is why the 19.8-inch compartments in this category are tighter than they sound.
Do covered litter boxes and enclosures make the smell worse?
They concentrate it. Ohio State's Indoor Pet Initiative states plainly that covered litter boxes concentrate odours more than uncovered boxes, and Cornell's feline behavior guidance makes the same point: covers hold odours in. An enclosure moves the smell out of your nose and into a small box your cat has to stand in, so ventilation holes and daily scooping stop being optional.
Will my cat actually use an enclosed litter box?
Some will not. The ASPCA's litter box guidance is to remove covers and liners from all litter boxes, and a hood or liner that makes a cat uncomfortable is listed among the common causes of a cat eliminating outside the box. Buy the enclosure, keep the old open pan for two weeks, and watch which one gets used before you get rid of anything.

Wider than the published 6.5 inches on the narrowest cabinet here. Openings in this category run from 6.5 x 8 inches up to a 10.6-inch-high cat hole, and the taller openings are the ones that suit a cat over about 12 lb, a long-haired cat, or an older cat that no longer folds.
Can I put a self-cleaning box inside a cabinet?
Only if the interior clears the machine in all three dimensions plus its lid travel. A Litter-Robot 4 alone has a 22 x 27-inch footprint and a 29.5-inch height, which is larger than every interior in this guide, so the answer for that machine specifically is no.

PETSFIT Litter Box Enclosure — Its spec block says 22 x 17.5 x 31 inches — a tall narrow cabinet — while every photograph on the same page shows a wide low console on legs. One of the two is wrong, and guessing which is not research.
SONGMICS HOME UPCL013 (toolless assembly) — The best specification sheet in the category, including a published 22 x 18.5 x 18.5-inch main compartment — and the brand's own image server returns a photograph of a gold bar cart for the white version. Worth revisiting once that is fixed.
